Born in Lincolnshire in 1833, Laurent was a student in the Military Department at King’s in 1849-50. His father, Felix Laurent, was a vicar. After leaving King’s, Augustus Laurent went on to serve with the 19th Bombay Native Infantry. He became Lieutenant in 1865. He died aged 44-45 in 1878.
