Description
A block of conglomerate, broken across the lower right corner. A rectangular field is inset into the face (H 26 cm x W 34), in which the inscription is set, the frame only roughly finished. The exact depth and form of the rear is uncertain, as when observed by Bivona the block was fixed to a wall with cement.

Romano shortly prior to 1829 in a garden 'nella pianura di Giancaniglia fuori la porta di Palermo' , in use as a garden seat; subsequently hidden by the owner, but rediscovered in the later 19th cent.; transferred to the civic museum shortly before seen by Mommsen; seen by Bivona prior to 1994.
