commentary
The use of 'K' rather than 'C' for Kanius, is relatively common for various nomina (e.g. Canius, Caninius). While there are other attestations of the gens Caninia in Thermae Himeraeae, see e.g. ISic000141 and ISic000167, there are no other attested members of the gens Cania in Sicily, except for a reference from Cicero (Off. 3.58).
