- Description
- Five connecting fragments of a white crystalline marble plaque, of which the right margin is damaged and the lower edge broken. Top, left and right edges are roughly finished. The rear is finished, but with a series of vertical grooves creating relief elements, with similarity to a triglyph. The marble has clearly been re-used from an earlier architectural element. commentary
ISic000161-000164 were all found together and, as Bivona notes, should all belong to the same family, since they share the same nomen (Cornelius) and the Auctus of ISic000161 is the dedicant for his wife (ISic000163) and, in this text, his sister. The relationship of Cornelius Castor in ISic000162 to the other three is not known (could be a son or grandson given the ages).
