Provenance

Place of origin
Tauromenium
Provenance found
The fragments were found in 1969, without clear dating evidence, in the fill of a large cistern within an ancient building containing a small peristyle courtyard - most likely a rich private house - on the slopes below the theatre (adjoining via Bagnoli Croci, next to the modern Hotel Taormina Park). Currently on display as no.18 in the antiquarium of the teatro antico.
