commentary

Manganaro rightly comments that Morel's reading is not sustainable, but the available photograph is insufficient to allow of easy re-reading. Manganaro reasonably suggests that the visible letters are compatible with a funerary inscription which includes reference to the disposition of the tomb for the deceased's freedmen, but it is hard to resolve the exact sequence of letters.
