Provenance found
First recorded in the College of the Jesuits in Palermo in 1748/1749 by Thomas Blackburne, but provenance not recorded. As a dedication to Aphrodite, it is tempting to attribute it to the sanctuary at Erice.

Several Massaliotes are attested in Hellenistic Sicily, notably at Lilybaeum in ISic003114 and Syracusae in ISic003334, and it is tempting to see this as a dedication by a Massaliote trader at the sanctuary of Eryx.
