Provenance found
The place, date and circumstances of the discovery are unknown. Kaibel, gave it as existing in Lipari, Salinas had it transferred to Palermo in the archaeological museum, where it was already at the time of Libertini, and where it remained until 1965, when it was brought back to Museo Archeologico Eoliano. Possible that it was found around 1879 in the excavation of twenty graves carried out by Scolarici in his property in contrada Diana
