- Description
- A large rectangular block of stone of the local fine Taormina limestone, subsequently re-used as a door threshold, and so worn smooth on one broad face, and with holes cut in the face for door posts. Inscription
- Layout
- The text is inscribed on three faces, the precise organisation of which remains a question of discussion. Battistoni 2020 and 2011, after Bormann, offers the most plausible and complete reconstruction, followed here: Section A in two columns on face I (left, narrow face for the viewer), continuing upper left on face III (central, wider face for the viewer); Section B in a single column on face II (right narrow face for the viewer); Section C, top of face III, followed by a large lacuna; Section D, lower left of face III; Section E.i, traces top right of face III, followed by a large lacuna; section E.ii, lower right of face III.
