commentary
According to the description of Ferrara (1829, 385), the fragment belongs to the base of a statue. It is not possible to infer much abotu the content, but Kaibel (1890, 119) believed it to be part of an epigram (probably honorific). At line 3 Kaibel identified a participle (middle, female), while at line 4 he corrected the ΑΥΖΕΝΤΙΟΝ of the stone to ΑΥΞΕΝΤΙΟΝ, a rather rare name, attested in the late Empire (C4-C5 CE) and especially in Crete, Cilicia, and Syria in Christian (MAMA III 275) and Hebrew (MAMA III 679) contexts.
