commentary

A dedication, to Eloros, presumably the local river god, and to Timassa, perhaps a local nymph (?). Manganaro notes that there are scratched letters/traces visible at the end of the inscription, assumed to be later additions. The letter forms, such as the rhomboid omega, find second-century parallels, for instance, at Segesta.
