commentary
The stone was re-used; an earlier Greek epitaph (C4/5 AD) sits on the reverse (ISic002932). Ferrua suggests that the third word should be understood as a surname, common in the early mediaeval period; Manganaro prefers to read, more literally, 'servant/slave of the church'.
