Provenance

Place of origin
Catina
Provenance found
First published by Libertini 1931, seen on the antiquarian market, but assumed by Libertini to come from the area of the via Androne necropolis where work had lately been taking place. It is now in the archaeological museum at Palazzolo Acreide (first floor display, case 39), with an old inventory number; but it is not published among the texts owned by the Baron Judica, so its original provenance / context remains uncertain. Absence from CIG IV and IG XIV suggests it was not known in the 19th century; the publication in NSA alone has meant it has generally been missed.
