commentary

Nenci described the fragment as part of an architrave, but Ampolo and Erdas consider it more likely to be part of a statue base. Appeiraios is attested as the third onomastic element in the name of Diodoros son of Tittelos in ISic001106. This is likely to be another honorific, but not of course necessarily for the same individual.
