Description
Stele with tang at the base for insertion into a plinth, with rough surfaces. Slightly chipped along the edges of the front face, remains of mortar on the rear face. The stone was used as a funerary stele twice and is in palimpsest. To engrave the most recent text (catalogued separately, see ), a 15cm high band was carved in the upper part, probably corresponding to the space occupied by the older text. Only the last line of this older text remains, clearly visible in the space between the last line of the recent inscription and the lower margin of the lowered band. It is likely that this surviving text was preceded by one (or at most) two lines. The text of the oldest inscription (a) is presented here.
