- Description
- Stele obtained from a sarcophagus head. The upper part of the header has a smooth crown molding; a similar molding was also found on the lower edge, but it was intentionally removed, as evident signs of chiselling indicate. The rear face, less smooth than the front, bears two distinct inscriptions, labelled 'a' and 'b', both placed perpendicularly to the original height of the slab; when reused it was therefore rotated by 90 degrees and is broken at the current upper and lower margins. The text of inscription 'a' is presented here, for inscription 'b' see . The two inscriptions do not appear to be contemporary, due to differences in the characteristics of the engraving, but it is not possible to establish which is the older.
