commentary
The first line of the inscription is recorded in pencil in the final page of Orsi's second notebook (taccuino), in which he transcribed almost the entire existing collection of the museum; this inscription seems to have been missed in that initial survey, and this pencil note seems to have remained uncompleted. No information is preserved regarding the origin of the stone, which was already in the museum's collection when the inventory was begun, but was omitted from the material in CIL X, but whether through accident or only being added to the collection in the course of the 1880s is unclear.
