commentary

Hourglass-shaped sign recurrent as a mark throughout the ancient world. Agostiniani (1977, pp.14-15) considers this type to be distinct from the other inscriptions with hourglass-shaped symbols (see IAS_38-42). However, the symbol of this inscription seems to be ascribable to the same typology.
