commentary

This document is one of a large deposit (c. 150) of lead tesserae found in a storeroom of Athena's sanctuary at the archaeological site of Kamarina. The lamina appears to be used twice (see Cordano 1992, p. 58). In the second use, face a is used as face b and vice versa. The first text has not been erased in order to engrave the second, therefore it is clearly visible. For a similar reuse of the tesserae see also ISic030197 and ISic030198.
