The funerary inscription includes reference to the purchase of the tomb by the husband of the deceased, Παλλάδιος, with the presence of the noun ἀγορασία (restored) and the genitive of the purchaser, following a formula more widespread at Syracuse, but also attested at Catania (cf. SEG 4.60, JIWE I 150). For the deceased Πελάγια (the name is also attested in Syracuse, ASSiracusano 1956, 57), both her date of birth (ll. 2-3) and date of death (ll. 4-5) are indicated, while the final closing expression with ἐνθάδε κεῖται contains the information that Pelagia had only one husband in her lifetime: on the epithet μόνανδρος used in epitaphs to emphasize a woman's virtue, and other epithets highlighting conjugal fidelity and love, see Grandinetti 2006, 35-36 (for μόνανδρος used in another Sicilian epitaph, see IG XIV 191, from Syracuse).
