Museo di Archeologia dell'Universita di Catania museum

This museum is principally formed around the personal collection of Libertini, augmented by donations from Paolo Orsi and other individuals. The majority of the material seems to derive from Catania and Centuripe, but there are also finds from Megara Hyblaia and many have no clear provenance (Libertini frequently purchased on the antiquities market, as well as collecting from his own excavations). The ceramics range from prehistoric to medieval, supplemented by inscriptions, antefixes, terracotta altars, strigils, figurines, pinakes and a number of fakes. A great teaching collection
